What's the difference between the K1 and the K1 SE :

#1. K1 is constructed with full aluminum body structure while K1 SE is engineered with reinforced aluminum top case plus plastic bottom case
#2. K1 is unavailable in low profile Gateron mechanical hot-swappable version.
#3. Five USD more in price than the K1 SE since K1 is machined with full aluminum body structure.

Excellent even after more than 1 year!

I ordered a K1 in January 2021. The package was delivered quickly and in excellent condition.

The Keyboard is performing really well after more than 1 year of daily use, in bluetooth mode, for more than 10 hours a day (software engineering). Battery seems to still be in good shape (1 charge/week) and it even survived a complete disassembly after I spilled a drink on it! Works like nothing happened (I do not recommend it though).

The price is excellent and the typing is smooth. I've standard keycaps and the color scheme is really nice. Backlight is great even though I only use the standard RGB lightning so the multitude of mode is useless for me. The keyboard size is great on the go, now that I can go back to the office I can just pop it inside my backpack along the laptop.

For the price it far surpass more expensive "GAMING" keyboard I've had in the past. Will surely buy another one if this one goes out on me.

My first Keychron and amazing experience.

I was looking around for new keyboard and was looking for keyboard that resembles the laptop profile with mechanical keys because I typed regularly with laptop for work. I stumbled on Keychron low profile keyboard with and bought one instantly with red switch and RGB lighting.

I have been using it for more than 2 months now on Windows 10 and I really enjoy the typing experience and playing games on it. The amount of typing mistakes have been minimal in comparison to normal sized keyboard. I assume the reason with the minimal amount of typing error using low-profile keyboard than the normal profile keyboard is due to familiar feeling of typing in laptop.

I am not a mechanical keyboard enthusiast and I don't have any experience with different variety of mechanical switches but I chose red switches because they are suppose to be the quietest one and a very good choice for gaming. I can only say that the key is indeed quiet enough and has no issues with my (RPG) gaming needs.

The RGB lighting is great and offers variety of lighting mode style. My only wish is that there is an option to toggle off the lighting completely when I am away from keyboard for a long time.

I did test out the Bluetooth the first time I used it and it connected seamlessly with no lag but I prefer wired keyboard over wireless for my everyday use. I was disappointed with the length of the USB cable provided because it is only 1 metre long and the length is not enough to reach my PC located under the desk.

The build is very sturdy and feels very high quality. The keycaps texture are very smooth and I hope Keychron will offer keys replacement options with different texture such as matte.

Overall, I am very satisfied and hopefully this keyboard will be supported for a long time.
